Friuli is shown above in red
Friuli is best known for the
best white wines, Pinot Grigio, once part of a bigger kingdom, which also
included veneto, you will see apples grown here, not lemons. Mytho-Europa,
Pinot bianco is a good wine, not a lot of oak, pinot noir. We see more influences
of German, Austrian and even Asian cooking in the language, but even the
cuisine. Often, you will not see olive oil used in some dishes, but
lard instead. The olive trees to not grow all the way up through Friuli,
so the thing about Italian cooking, is that they use what is available to
them, in this case, it would be the fat from the pig.
